People are probably so sick of Rocky & me, but any opportunity I get to show him how special he is to me, I take… & this post isn’t just about him anyway…
Today I was looking through my Facebook memories & I came across this status I wrote 4 years ago, that’s still so very true to this day!
Yesterday we celebrated 7 years of being together…In those 7 years there’s been respect, trust, support & understanding. He was him, & I was me; we’ve never lost ourselves! We kept our hobby’s, ventured into new ones; built & continue to build our strong “empire,” take trips together & apart! & best part of all, he loves my/our friends, never complains about me taking time away from us to spend with them, allows my girls trips & girls night out, etc…He’s really, truly the greatest life partner to have.
Aside, from having a perfectly imperfect relationship, I’m also truly blessed with the greatest friendships. Friendship means everything to me! Who else am I going to complain about my husband to?! Hehehe! It’s very important for me to have a healthy balance within my relationship & friendships. They support me, build with me, & inspire me, all with zero competition! & I’m blessed that they too respect my relationship enough to know that I’m there in a heartbeat, for the most important things, at least, but that there will be times I’ll have to miss out on certain things! So funny how I was just having this conversation a few days ago with a good friend, & then this status comes up…
So moral of the story, surround yourself with positive influences in all aspects of your life! It’ll make finding that balance so much easier! Yesterday I not only celebrated my relationship with my husband, but my continuously strong relationships with my friends, throughout these years. &, conveniently, this week, I get to take a trip with a few of them! Life is great!
This quote couldn’t be more perfect to end this topic with: “Having a soulmate is not always about love. You can find your soulmate in a friendship too.”
